Asian Shooting Championships: India wins all three medals in men’s 50m rifle 3 position event

 
Two-time Olympian Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar set a new world record en route to winning the gold medal in the men’s 50 metre rifle 3 positions event at the Asian Shooting Championships 2026 in New Delhi today. Competing at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range, the 25-year-old defended his title with a score of 362.0 in the final. India completed a clean sweep of the podium in the event, with Niraj Kumar claiming silver with 361.8 and Akhil Sheoran taking bronze with 343.5.
 
Earlier, the Indian trio of Neeraj, Aishwary, and Akhil also won the team gold with Japan and Kazakhstan winning the silver and bronze medals. In the junior men’s 50 metre Rifle 3 Positions finals, Adriyan Karmakar secured his second gold medal of the championship with a comfortable victory, shooting a score of 353.2, which was 4.7 more than silver medallist Dmitriy Kim of Kazakhstan. The Asian Shooting Championship will conclude tomorrow with the medals of 50m Rifle Prone Women and 25m Centre Fire Pistol Men to be decided.
