Indian Chess grandmaster Praggnanandhaa, who won a silver medal at FIDE world cup in Baku, Azerbaijan received a rousing welcome on his arrival at the Chennai Airport on Wednesday (30 August 2023).
During the FIDE World Cup final, Praggnanandhaa delivered an impressive performance against the reigning World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen. Despite his remarkable efforts, Carlsen emerged victorious, securing the International Chess Federation World Cup title. As a result, the Indian chess grandmaster Praggnanandhaa earned the runner-up position in the 2023 FIDE World Cup.
