The nation will celebrate Samvidhan Diwas tomorrow. The theme of this year’s celebration is Hamara Samvidhan-Hamara Swabhiman. The main function will be held in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Ministers and Members of Parliament will attend the event. Our correspondent reports that this year marks the 76th anniversary of adoption of its Constitution.
On the occasion of Constitution Day, millions across India will read the Preamble from cities to villages. The President will lead the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution. During, the programme, the translated version of Constitution of India will be released in nine languages including Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Bodo, Kashmiri, Telugu, Odia and Assamese. A commemorative booklet – Bharat ki Samvidhaan se kala aur Calligraphy, will also be released. On constitution Day, all Union Ministries, Departments, State and Union Territories Governments and local bodies will organise different programmes.
The constituent assembly took two years, eleven months and seventeen days to accomplish the stupendous task of drafting the historic document. The Indian constitution has stood the test of the time as India has been able to foster a vibrant democracy at its heart.
