India secures victory over Slovakia in ITTF World Team Table Tennis

In the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships, India staged a spirited comeback to defeat Slovakia 3-2 in a Group 7 match at the Copper Box Arena in London. With the win, India moved to the top of the group standings ahead of their next tie against Guatemala.

Slovakia took the lead as Lubomir Pistej beat Manush Shah before Manav Thakkar levelled for India against Jakub Zelinka. Wang Yang then put Slovakia ahead by defeating Harmeet Desai, but India fought back with Thakkar dominating Pistej and Shah sealing the win against Zelinka.

The India women’s team will face Rwanda to conclude the group stage. Both Indian teams will play their final group matches tonight.
