The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for dense to very dense fog conditions in Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha for the next two days.
The Met Department has forecast dense fog conditions over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and the north-eastern parts of the country tomorrow.
Due to dense fog conditions in the national capital and the NCR region today, several flights experienced disruptions. Talking to Akashvani News, an official from Delhi Airport said that 72 flights were cancelled due to low visibility at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR has been registered in the poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the National Capital was recorded at 275 as of 8 PM today.
