The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange colour warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. Parts of Andhra Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana are also expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall till tomorrow. The weather department further predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds at isolated places over Odisha and Karnataka during the next two to three days.
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to remain in the poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s air quality index was recorded at 216 at 7 this morning. This places the air quality in the poor range. The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-2) restrictions are currently in place for the National Capital Region. An Air Quality Index between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, and 301 and 400 very poor. An AQI between 401 and 450 is considered severe.
