The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for tomorrow. Similar conditions will prevail over Keralam, Mahe, Lakshadweep, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Parts of North Eastern Region for tomorrow.
According to IMD, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Odisha and Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for next two to three days. The weather agency has predicted heat wave conditions in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha for tomorrow.
IMD has said squally wind is likely to prevail along and off south Somalia coast. Similar conditions are expected over Gulf of Mannar, adjoining Comorin area, many parts of south Bay of Bengal, most parts of eastcentral Bay of Bengal, adjoining parts of westcentral & northeast Bay of Bengal, along and off Myanmar coast, over Andaman Sea till Monday.
