India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued cyclonic storm warning for north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts in the wake of Cyclone Ditwah. IMD has informed that cyclonic storm over the southwest Bay of Bengal is moving North – Northwest and is expected near North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh Coast by early Morning tomorrow. In this regard,IMD has advised residents to follow safety instructions and stay indoors during severe weather. Along with this, the Met Department has also asked the fishermen not to venture into the coastal areas of Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and the Andhra Pradesh coasts till Monday.
In addition, the Met Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Karaikal and Tamil Nadu for tomorrow. According to the IMD, Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over Punjab and Odisha till tomorrow, while dense fog can be observed in Himachal Pradesh till Tuesday.
Meanwhile, The air quality in Delhi-NCR has shifted from very poor to poor quality. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index of the region was recorded at 290 as of 8 PM today. In view of the poor air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management has imposed Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan in the national capital and adjoining areas.
