The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamil Nadu and Kerala during the next two to three days. Mahe, Puducherry, and Karaikal are also likely to experience similar weather conditions today.
The IMD added that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are very likely to prevail over these regions during the next two days. The weather department further said, the temperature over the plains of northwest and adjoining Central India is expected to remain 2 to 5 degrees Celsius below normal over the next week.
Meanwhile, the air quality in the Delhi-NCR region continues to be in the very poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the region was recorded at 336 as of 7 AM today.
An Air Quality Index between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, and 301 and 400 very poor. An AQI between 401 and 450 is considered severe.
