The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today.
The Met Department has also predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning over Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Telangana during the next two to three days.
Meanwhile, squally weather with wind speeds gusting to 55 kmph is also likely to prevail along and off Kerala, Karnataka coasts and adjoining sea areas, over Lakshadweep, many parts of southeast Arabian Sea, over Gulf of Mannar, till tomorrow.
