The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast shallow to moderate fog over Northeast India and Uttar Pradesh for the next 5 days. IMD has predicted heavy rainfall for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next three days. The Met department has also predicted squally weather conditions over the Andaman Sea, the southeast and many parts of the southwest Bay of Bengal today.
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to be in the very poor category. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 384 as of 1 pm today. In view of the poor air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management has imposed Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan in the national capital and adjoining areas.
