IMD forecasts cold wave conditions over Central, Eastern and Northern Peninsular India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cold wave conditions to continue over Central, Eastern and Northern Peninsular India till the end of this week.
 
 
According to the IMD, cold wave conditions will prevail over parts of West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh today and tomorrow. Similar weather conditions will prevail over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka and North Interior Odisha during the next two days. Minimum temperature is expected to gradually fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over Maharashtra for the next 3 days. 
 
 
The weather agency has also predicted light to moderate rainfall with gusty winds to be very likely present over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next 7 days. 
 
 
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to be in the Poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded at 285 as of 7 AM today.
