IMD forecasts heavy rainfall at isolated places over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today. IMD has said that cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh till tomorrow.
 
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to be in the very poor category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 390 recorded at 1 PM today.  According to the Central Pollution Control Board, most areas of the city crossed an AQI of 400. The AQI levels were recorded in Anand Vihar at 428, Narela at 424, Punjabi Bagh at 408 and IGI Airport at 351. 
 
In view of the poor air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management has imposed Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan in the national capital and adjoining areas.
