The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) launched the book “Bharat: That Is India – Reclaiming Our Real Identity” by Abhijeet Joag in New Delhi. The event was attended by Bihar’s Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, IGNCA Trust President Ram Bahadur Rai among others. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan said India’s sense of nationhood arises from an ancient cultural consciousness that predates the modern nation-state. He highlighted the Indian tradition of dharma as a framework of duty and responsibility, and referred to the intellectual and spiritual continuity reflected in Advaita Vedanta and monastic institutions established by Adi Shankaracharya. He noted that the book presents significant insights into Indian history and cultural identity. A large number of scholars, students and cultural enthusiasts participated in the programme, showing keen interest in the discussions and the ideas presented in the book.
