Hornbill Festival to conclude today in Nagaland

The 26th edition of the Hornbill Festival, Nagaland’s famed “Festival of Festivals,” will conclude today with a grand closing ceremony at Unity Plaza, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.

The finale event is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM, bringing to a close 10 days of cultural celebration, performances, and global participation.

The closing ceremony will be graced by prominent Special Guests, including Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Tourism, Education, Parliamentary Affairs & RWD, Pasang Dorjee Sona, Reuben Gauci, High Commissioner of the Republic of Malta to India, and Ireland’s Deputy Ambassador to India, Raymond Mullen.

Cultural highlights of the evening include a special presentation by the Task Force for Music & Arts, culminating in the traditional lighting of the bonfire, symbolising the formal close of this year’s festival.

The festival was inaugurated by Nagaland and Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla as the Chief Host, with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as Host on December 1.

The annual Hornbill Festival is also being held in various districts of Nagaland. This year’s Edition- Six countries namely Austria, France, Ireland, Malta, Switzerland and the United Kingdom are the partner countries and Arunachal Pradesh as State Partner.

The Hornbill Festival, celebrated from December 1 to 10 each year, continues to be a major cultural showcase that draws visitors, promoting Nagaland’s rich tribal heritage and global cultural engagement.
