Home Minister Amit Shah today laid the foundation stone for the six-lane Shantipura-Khoraj GIDC road in Sanand, Ahmedabad. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was also present on this occasion. The six-lane having a total length of 28.8 kilometres, will include widening of service roads on both sides, 13 bridges and a six-lane high bridge.
The traffic load on this road under the Gujarat State Road Development Corporation (GSRDC) has increased in Sanand and its surrounding areas. Due to the movement of more than 43 thousand vehicles on average every day, there was a need to convert the four-lane road into a six-lane road to ease the traffic congestion. Under the project, a total of five new underpasses will be constructed at Ularia and Telav at Sanand GIDC and Khoraj GIDC. On this occasion, Mr. Shah and Mr. Patel met the residents of Sanand and extended their New Year greetings.
