Union Home Minister Amit Shah today expressed confidence that Ahmedabad will soon be on the top of the global sports map and will secure the hosting rights for the 2036 Olympic Games.He said, the city has witnessed a phenomenal expansion of world-class sports infrastructure and training facilities over the past few years. He noted that Ahmedabad is gearing up for the 2030 Commonwealth Games and will soon feature a massive Sardar Patel Sports Enclave. 

The Minister inaugurated over eight hundred EWS houses, slum development works, and various other urban public facilities, including lakes and gardens. He also performed the groundbreaking for a Mini Sports Complex in Gota and laid the foundation stone for various people-centric projects of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. The Minister also handed over appointment letters to nearly one hundred newly appointed assistant firemen of the AMC.
