The holy Devnimori Relics of Lord Buddha will be travelling to Sri Lanka for a special week long exposition at the Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo on Wednesday. The devotees can pay homage at the temple from 4 to 11 February. Speaking at the Nawam Perahera yesterday, the Chief incumbent of Gangaramaya temple Ven. Kirinde Assaji Thero thanked the Indian Government and the Indian high commission and added that the temple is preparing for the exposition.
The relics will be accompanied by a high-level delegation from Gujarat led by Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi, along with other officials. The arrival of the sacred relics on Sri Lanka’s National Day stands as a powerful symbol of the enduring spiritual and cultural bond uniting India and Sri Lanka.
