HM Amit Shah Assures Swift Centre Aid for Maharashtra Flood-Affected Farmers

In Maharashtra, heavy rains and floods have caused extensive damage to agriculture. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah has assured that as soon as the Maharashtra Government submits a detailed report on the losses, the Centre will announce substantial assistance for the farmers without any delay. He was speaking today at Loni in Ahilyanagar district, after unveiling the life-size statues of Padmashri Dr Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil and Padmabhushan Dr Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, and inaugurating the renovated Padmashri Dr Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Cooperative Sugar Factory.

Shri Amit Shah informed that the Central Government has sanctioned assistance of 3,132 crore rupees for the financial year 2025-26. Out of this, 1,631 crore rupees were disbursed in April, including a special package of 215 crore rupees for Maharashtra. He added that several decisions, such as the temporary suspension of loan recovery and concessions for students in examinations, have also been taken. The programme was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, Union Minister of State for Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol, and other dignitaries.
