In Himachal Pradesh, heavy snowfall has led to the closure of 1,291 roads across the state. The Public Works Department (PWD) is working to restore road connectivity and has deployed 385 machines to reopen the roads. Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that, in view of the snowfall forecast, a review meeting with departmental officials was held in advance and a plan was prepared to deploy machinery in high-altitude areas. The minister also urged tourists not to panic and to avoid unnecessary travel. The monitoring cell is continuously collecting ground reports, and road restoration work is being carried out on a war footing using JCBs, snow blowers, and other machinery.
