Indian pistol shooter Gurpreet Singh came up with a commanding performance for the second day in a row to help the country win the team gold in the 25 meters centre fire event of the Asian Shooting Championships at Skymkent in Kazakhstan today.
A day after he won the 25-meter standard pistol individual gold, the 37-year-old Army shooter, along with Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu and Ankur Goel, secured another big win in centre fire clinching Gold with an aggregate score of 1733 points. Another Indian shooter Manini Kaushik clinched her maiden individual international medal, winning a bronze in the Women’s 50m rifle prone today.
The 24-year-old from Jaipur also played a key role in helping India secure the team silver in the same event. She combined with Surabhi Bharadwaj and Vinod Vidarsa to tally 1846 points, earning India the team silver behind South Korea, who took gold with 1856.8 points.
