Gujarat Govt, Maruti Suzuki exchange investment letter for new manufacturing plant in Khoraj

Maruti Suzuki will establish a massive new vehicle manufacturing plant at Khoraj in Gujarat with an investment of 35 thousand crore rupees. An investment letter exchange ceremony was held in Gandhinagar today between the Gujarat Government and Maruti Suzuki India Limited in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
 
Spread across one thousand 750 acres of land, the new facility will eventually consist of four units, each with a capacity of two lakh 50 thousand cars, bringing the total production to 10 lakh units per year. The company plans to commence production from the first plant by the 2029 financial year.
 
Welcoming the project, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that this facility will further strengthen the country’s largest and most competitive automobile manufacturing corridor. The project is expected to create direct employment for over 12 thousand people and indirect livelihood opportunities for nearly seven lakh 50 thousand individuals through the development of ancillary units and MSME clusters in the surrounding areas.
