Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the statewide ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ campaign at Gunsada in the tribal district Tapi today.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister said the campaign is a tribute to the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters for the country. He said when the country is celebrating 75 years of Independence, the campaign gives us the opportunity to remember the local freedom fighters. State Ministers launched the campaign from various districts of the State.
As part of the campaign, a series of events will be organized in the State under five different themes such as the Panchpran Pledge, and Vasudha Vandan between the 9th to the 31st of this month. Shilaphalakam will be established in over 11 thousand villages in Gujarat to pay tribute to the local freedom fighters. Flag hoisting programmes will be organized in over 15 thousand villages of the State.
