In Uttarakhand, the “Green Card system” for commercial passenger vehicles has been introduced from today to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the Char Dham Yatra. Transport Minister Pradeep Batra inaugurated the system at Roshanabad in Haridwar district.

 

The Green Card system will ensure the technical fitness and safety of commercial vehicles participating in the Yatra. It will not only certify vehicle fitness but also provide all necessary vehicle-related information instantly in case of an emergency.

 

According to the Transport Department, vehicle owners can apply online through the department’s official website and pay the prescribed fee. After this, the Green Card will be issued following a technical inspection of the vehicle at the nearest transport office.
