Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2025 Kicks Off

The Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon 2025, organised by the Ministry of Education and the AICTE, began today across various centres in the country. In Puducherry, a Software edition of the grand finale is being hosted by Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering and Technology, Ariyur.
 
 
Around 20 teams, comprising 120 students and 20 faculty members, selected from various parts of the country, are participating in the event. Teams will work continuously for about 36 hours to build prototypes addressing various challenges.
 
 
Talking to Akashvani, Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering and Technology Principal Dr Pradeep said the hackathon aims to develop software-based technological solutions to real-life problems posed by government departments, public sector undertakings, industries and social organisations. He added that the Smart India Hackathon is being organised with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
 
 
The winning teams will be announced tomorrow evening. The top team will receive a cash prize of 1.5 lakh rupees.
