The Government will establish 50 thousand new Atal Tinkering Labs in government schools nationwide over the next five years to foster a spirit of innovation.

Replying to supplementaries during Question Hour in Rajya Sabha, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, currently, ten thousand Atal Tinkering Labs have been established in schools to promote innovation. He said, in the coming years, education in the country will be increasingly technology-driven.

Mr Pradhan said, broadband internet connectivity is being provided in all government schools for class 9 to 12.
