Govt sanctions over 10,000 km of road projects for J&K, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim

The Government has sanctioned more than 10 thousand kilometres of road projects for Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-IV. The Ministry of Rural Development said that with the construction of these roads, approximately three thousand 270 previously isolated habitations will gain access to connectivity and critical services.

As per the Ministry, the scheme aims to provide 62,500 kilometres of all-weather roads to unconnected habitations. The Ministry said that spanning from remote hills to the heart of rural communities, these roads do not merely represent infrastructure enhancement; they are vital pathways to progress, unlocking a wealth of opportunities and fostering inclusive growth.
