Director of AIIMS New Delhi, Dr M Srinivas, said that the Government of India’s HPV vaccination drive is a defining moment in the country’s fight against cancer and a giant step toward a healthier and stronger India. In a social media post, Dr Srinivas said that vaccinating adolescent girls against HPV today is not merely a public health measure; it is a promise to the next generation of Indian women. He said cervical cancer, one of the most preventable cancers, claims tens of thousands of lives in India every year. He said the HPV vaccination drive is a step that will protect millions of girls across the nation.
