Centre has said that over 31 crore unorganised workers and more than five lakh Gig and Platform workers have been registered on the e-Shram portal so far. The e-Shram portal was launched in 2021 to register unorganised, Gig and Platform workers by providing them with a Universal Account Number.

 

Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today. She informed that fourteen schemes of different Central ministries and departments have already been integrated with the e-Shram portal to provide access to social security, health benefits and welfare schemes.
