The Government has debunked a video circulating on social media claiming that former Chief of Army Staff, General Manoj Pande (Retired) has made statements against the Indian Army. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has informed that the video is AI-generated and a deepfake.

The Unit added that the Former Chief of Army Staff has not made such a statement. PIB said that Pakistani propaganda accounts are circulating such manipulated videos to mislead the public and undermine trust in Indian Armed Forces. The Government has urged citizens to always verify news from trusted sources before believing or sharing it.
