The government has debunked a video circulating on social media claiming that Army Commander Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh has said that threshold exercises are being pushed for political optics to boost the image for the Bihar elections. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has informed that the video being circulated by Pakistani propaganda accounts, is AI generated and digitally altered. The PIB further said that no such statement has been made by the officer. Furthermore, it uploaded the link to the real video of the event. The unit has also urged the citizens to report such fake claims through email at factcheck@pib.gov.in.
