In Ladakh, fresh snowfall in the Kargil district has disrupted vehicular movement along the Zojila axis, with slippery roads and poor visibility affecting traffic. Authorities regulated movement to ensure commuter safety.

 

The Meteorological Department has reported continued snowfall at Zojila, with generally cloudy weather. The forecast indicates light snowfall over some peaks and passes in the coming days, while moderate to heavy snowfall is likely at many places in Kargil and Zanskar later this month. The Met Department has cautioned that the risk of temporary closure of Zojila Pass remains high due to adverse weather conditions. Police have advised commuters to strictly follow official advisories, use anti-skid chains, and avoid unnecessary travel during snowfall.
