Sudhanshu Sil, veteran CPI(M) organiser and former Member of Parliament, passed away this morning at a private hospital in Kolkata. He was 81. Born on March 27, 1945, Sil’s distinguished political career included serving as the MLA for the Jorabagan constituency from 2001 to 2004 and representing the Kolkata Municipal Corporation as a five-time Councillor and Member of the Mayor-in-Council between 1990 and 2015. Left Front Chairman Biman Bose and CPI(M) State Secretary Mohammed Selim expressed deep grief over his demise.
