Former BCCI president Inderjit Singh Bindra has passed away. He died at the age of 84 yesterday. A key figure in ushering in a new era of cricket marketing in India, Bindra served as BCCI president from 1993 to 1996. He was also the president of the Punjab Cricket Association for over three decades, from 1978 to 2014. In recognition of his contributions, the PCA Stadium in Mohali was renamed the I.S. Bindra Stadium in 2015.
Paying tribute, ICC Chairman Jay Shah, expressed deep condolences and described Bindra as a stalwart of Indian cricket administration.
