In Chhattisgarh, the final publication of the electoral roll has been released today following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision. According to the updated list, a total of one crore 87 lakh 30 thousand 914 voters have been registered in the state. Following the directions of the Election Commission, the Special Intensive Revision process commenced on the 27th of October last year and continued for nearly four months.
According to a press release issued by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, prior to the publication of the draft roll, the total number of voters in the state stood at two crore 12 lakh 30 thousand 737. After the completion of the revision process, there has been a reduction of 24 lakh 99 thousand 823 voters. During the Special Intensive Revision, the latest photographs received from voters have also been incorporated in the final electoral roll.
The final published electoral roll can be viewed on the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer as well as on the Voter Portal. The Chief Electoral Officer has stated that if any voter’s name is not included in the final list, they may apply for inclusion by submitting Form-6 along with a declaration and necessary supporting documents, either online or offline. In case of any errors in the published details, voters may submit Form-8 for correction through online or offline mode.
