ED conducts searches at 12 locations in Mohali and Chandigarh in land licence fraud case

The Enforcement Directorate is conducting searches at 12 locations in Mohali and Chandigarh in Punjab in connection with large-scale fraud in obtaining Change of Land Use licences from Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) and cheating the public to collect hundreds of crores.

 

According to ED, Nitin Gohal is being searched as he is allegedly helping builders who have defaulted in payment of GMADA fees and arranging political protection for them. He is a close associate of Rajbir Guhman, Officer on special duty to Punjab Chief Minister. The agency has stated that Nitin Gohal is suspected to be operating as a liasioner on behalf of the Punjab Chief Minister Office.
