The Election Commission has enhanced the technologically superior surveillance process ahead of the polls in West Bengal. According to Commission sources, several new measures are being introduced to keep the voting process transparent and free of any untoward incidents. It has been decided to provide body cameras to the micro-observers members of the central forces and the state police so that minute details can be recorded.
The Commission has stated that if any complaint or dispute arises, the footage will be examined. The Commission has also decided to take control of all CCTV cameras installed by the government departments in the concerned Assembly constituencies. Instructions have been given to take immediate action if any suspicious activity is noticed.
