Keralam Assembly: Congress led UDF on course to trounce ruling LDF

In Kerala, the United Democratic Front has swept poll signalling a decisive return to power. The Congress led the charge with 63 seats, while IUML added 22, giving the alliance a dominant edge across the state. Other UDF partners including Kerala Congress factions and smaller allies also chipped in, underlining a broad-based mandate for the coalition.
Results for all 140 seats now available. Congress has won 63 seats. Congress ally IUML has won 22 seats.  Ruling CPM has won 26, ally CPI has won 08 seats, while Kerala Congress has won 07 seats.  
        Latest results indicate Chief Minister and CPIM leader Pinarayi Vijayan has defeated V. P. Abdul Rasheed of Congress in Dharmadam constituency by more than nineteen thousand votes. While former Union Minister and BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar defeated senior CPIM leader V Sivankutty in Nemom constituency by more than four thousand votes.
In Kanjirappally Constituency, Rony K Baby of Congress defeated Dr N Jayaraj of Kerala Congress (M)over five thousand votes. 
In Palakkad, Congress candidate Ramesh Pisharody defeated Senior BJP leader Shobha Surendran by more than thirteen thousand votes. While in Peravoor Constituency, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President Sunny Joseph has defeated former State Health Minister K K Shailaja in more than fourteen thousand votes.
In Thrissur constituency, Rajan J Pallan of Congress has defeated Alankode Leelakrishnan of CPIM and Padmaja Venugopal of BJP. While another congress leader, Advocate Chandy Oommen has claimed the Puthuppally constituency. Sitting MLA and former opposition leader from Congress, Ramesh Chennithala has won the Haripad constituency with a margin of 23 thousand 337 votes. While CPIM has won the Alathur constituency, wher T M Sasi of CPIM has won by a margin of 8553 votes.
In Manjeshwar Constituency A K M Ashraf  of IUML has defeated former BJP State President, K Surendran over twenty nine thousand votes. While in Paravur, opposition leader and congress leader V D Satheesan is in the lead. In Ambalappuzha, former LDF Minister and currently contesting as an independent candidate under the UDF banner, G Sudhakaran defeated H Salam of CPIM in more than 27 thousand votes. 
While in Kazhakkottam constituency, former Union Minister and BJP leader V Muraleedharan defeated Kadakampalli Surendran of CPIM in just four hundred and twenty eight votes.
