Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has informed that the one-time temporary exemptions granted to IndiGo Airlines from certain Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) provisions have concluded. DGCA said that the airline is now required to fully comply with the approved regulatory framework. In a statement, the aviation regulator said the exemptions, earlier provided in view of the massive flight disruptions during early December 2025, were valid only till yesterday.
The exemptions were aimed at stabilising operations while safeguarding passenger safety and interests. DGCA noted that during the exemption period, IndiGo’s flight operations were closely monitored through periodic reviews, deployment of DGCA officials at airports, and real-time oversight at the airline’s Operations Control Centre. The regulator also said that IndiGo has informed it of its preparedness to implement the approved FDTL scheme. The airline further informed the DGCA that it has put in place the necessary operational, rostering, and monitoring arrangements to ensure full compliance with the norms with effect from today.
