The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) today held a national review meeting on key livestock sector initiatives in New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by the Secretary in DAHD, Naresh Pal Gangwar and attended by officials from States and Union Territories. The Ministry, in a statement, said the workshop reviewed Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) for livestock reforms, along with vaccination, Artificial Insemination, and the Bharat Pashudhan Portal under the National Digital Livestock Mission.

 

Addressing the occasion, Mr Gangwar said SASCI aims to drive incentive-based investment in the livestock sector and urged States to accelerate implementation, ensure timely fund utilisation, and strengthen Centre-State coordination.

 

The meeting also focused on improving digital data integration, expanding Artificial Insemination services, and strengthening disease control and livestock health systems. The Ministry said that the participants reaffirmed their commitment to the effective implementation of schemes and improved service delivery in the sector.
