The Delhi government is constructing the Model Chhath ghats at 17 points along the Yamuna River. Briefing the media in New Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that tents, electricity, sanitation, and toilets will be provided at these model ghats. She also informed that the government will withdraw all the FIRs that were filed by the previous government against those who went to celebrate Chhath at the Yamuna River in 2021. Mrs Gupta also announced a special cleanliness campaign in which all the public representatives, including MPs, MLAs, and Councillors, will visit all the ghats and will take a stock of the drive. The Chief Minister said that the government is making every effort to ensure that the devotees stand in clean water and offer prayers.
