The Delhi Government has issued an advisory for private offices in the national capital to operate at 50 per cent on-site workforce capacity, with the remaining staff continuing to work from home. The step has been taken as a precautionary measure in accordance with the latest directions from the Commission for Air Quality Management. Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa emphasised that under Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), the government is proactively implementing pollution control measures with an intensified focus on public health and air quality protection. He said the government has already mandated staggered office timings for all its offices as well as those working under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), till February next year, to reduce vehicular pollution during peak hours further.
Offices under MCD will operate from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and Delhi government offices from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Mr Sirsa said, over two thousand enforcement personnel from multiple agencies are working to ensure effective compliance with all pollution control protocols. Private offices are also requested to widely communicate these protocols and ensure prompt, effective implementation in all subsidiary and branch locations. The Environment Minister said, the government will continue to issue all required directions to tackle air pollution and minimize its impact.
