The second day of the India AI Impact Summit is underway in New Delhi today. A series of high-level panel discussions is being held, focused on harnessing artificial intelligence for inclusive and transformative growth. These sessions include AI for Social Good: Impact that Works, Scaling Impact from India’s Sovereign AI and Data, and Innovation to Impact: AI as a Public Health Gamechanger.
The five-day summit commenced yesterday, also featuring panel discussions on critical themes such as AI for National Defence, Cybersecurity Strategy in the Era of AI, and People’s AI: Designing a Future Where Everyone Belongs. These panel discussions are highlighting the strategic, security and ethical dimensions of emerging technologies. The day will also feature the launch of flagship Knowledge Compendiums, including the Casebooks on AI in Health, Energy, Education, Agriculture, Gender Empowerment and Disabilities, alongside a focused Seminar on Applied AI. Several flagship events are also scheduled to take place today, further underscoring the summit’s focus on practical innovation, collaborative frameworks and inclusive digital advancement.
The Summit is the first-ever global AI summit to be hosted in the Global South. World leaders from twenty nations are attending the event. The India AI Impact Summit is bringing together global leaders, policymakers, technology companies, innovators and experts to showcase and deliberate on the transformative potential of AI across governance, innovation and sustainable development. Recognising the strategic importance of AI, India has accorded high priority to building a robust and inclusive AI ecosystem. Initiatives such as the India AI Mission, development of AI compute infrastructure, promotion of indigenous AI models, and large-scale capacity-building programmes are laying a strong foundation for responsible and trusted AI adoption in the country.
