The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Cyclone Ditwah is very likely to move nearly northwards parallel to the North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts during next 24 hours. IMD informed that moving towards the northwards the cyclonic storm will be centered over southwest Bay of Bengal within a minimum distance of 70 km and 30 km from the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coastline by the evening today.
The weather agency has said that under the influence of the Cyclonic Storm heavy to heavy rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu till tomorrow. In this regard, the Met Department has advised fishermen not to venture into the coastal areas of Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and the south Andhra Pradesh coasts till tomorrow. Meanwhile, the weather office has also predicted cold wave conditions over Punjab for today.
