The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) convened a high-level meeting in New Delhi today. The Ministry of Science and Technology said that the meeting aimed at strengthening ongoing collaborations and a forward-looking, integrated roadmap for joint health research. It added that the two organisations noted the need to continue and expand wastewater surveillance, with a consensus to strengthen joint efforts through the One Health Mission. During the meeting, Director General of CSIR, Dr N. Kalaiselvi and Director General of ICMR, Dr Rajiv Bahl, highlighted the need for time-bound progress, enhanced coordination, and structured mechanisms for co-development of technologies to achieve high-impact national outcomes.
