Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has released revised guidelines for the Technology Development and Investment Promotion (TDIP) Scheme to strengthen country’s global telecom presence.
The Ministry of Communications said that the scheme, with an outlay of over 203 crore rupees for the period 2026-31, aims to boost indigenous innovation and accelerate the development of next-generation technologies, including 5G Advanced and 6G. It added that the guidelines focus on enhancing country’s participation in global telecom standard-setting bodies such as International Telecommunication Union, 3GPP and oneM2M.
The Ministry highlighted that financial support will be provided to Indian stakeholders for contributing to global standards, attending international meetings, and hosting key events in the country.
