Cold wave intensifies across Ladakh, Drass records minus 24.6 degree Celsius

The Cold wave in the entire Ladakh has intensified and is affecting the outdoor works due to freezing temperatures and icy winds. Drass in Western Ladakh has remained the coldest place of the Union Territory this morning with a minimum temperature settled at Minus 24.6 Degree Celcius and the Maximum temperature this evening recorded Minus 7.4 Degree Celcius. 
 
Another place in Ladakh, Nyoma, situated in Eastern Ladakh, which is also reeling under intense cold, has remained the second coldest place of the Union Territory as the minimum temperature dips down to Minus 21.6  Degree Celsius and 0.3 Degree Celsius recorded as the Maximum Temperature.
 
However, Leh and Kargil cities remained slightly warmer places as the minimum temperature in Leh was recorded Minus 14.4 Degree Celsius. Kargil city recorded Minus 13.2 Degree Celcius.
