Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the passage of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha, which recognises Amaravati as the sole capital of the state. In a statement, the Chief Minister said the development marks an important moment for the people of Andhra Pradesh, as it reflects the aspirations of millions and brings the capital issue closer to resolution. Mr Naidu expressed gratitude to the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing and supporting the Bill. He also thanked Members of Parliament from various political parties who backed the legislation, noting that the debate saw support cutting across party lines.
