CJI highlights relevance of literature in shaping social justice during Dinkar Memorial Lecture

 
The Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant today addressed the 8th Memorial Lecture commemorating the legacy of noted poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. Addressing the gathering, Justice Surya Kant highlighted the enduring relevance of literature in shaping social justice and national consciousness. He added that literature and poetry have played a vital role in guiding society from ancient to modern times.
In his address, Justice Surya Kant also underlined that Dinkar’s works continue to inspire societal transformation by awakening collective conscience and promoting human dignity. Referring to Dinkar’s celebrated work Rashmirathi, the Chief Justice said it presents a powerful discourse on equality, justice, and individual merit through the character of Karna. He added that such literary contributions resonate strongly with constitutional values of equality, dignity, and justice.
