In China, nine people lost their lives after sudden strong winds capsized four tourist boats and plunged 84 people into the water in Guizhou province yesterday. State media reported that the search was ongoing for one person who was still missing, while 74 others have been rescued. Nearly 500 workers were mobilised for the relief and rescue works in the incident. Chinese President Xi Jinping has instructed provincial authorities to enhance safety measures to curb the growing number of accidents at tourist attractions and major public places.
